Every year, millions across China journey home to reunite with family for Lunar New Year. Spring Festival captures this joyous season with notes of mandarin, plum blossom, and candied hawthorn. A scent of celebration and belonging.
This opens with a plum-forward scent, and becomes more herby and rind-y from the mandarin and the tanghulu. There’s something juicy, spicy and ever so slightly sour to it that makes it so hard to stop smelling it. Definitely a night/colder weather sent, but it reminds me of Lunar New Year with all the jammy sugared fruits and candies, along with eastern herbs and chinese medicine cabinets. Overall a lovely take on the concept!
